Interested in mapping the geographic location of your blog or wiki visitors? To add a map like the one above to your blog or wiki, please go to http://clustrmaps.com. To sign up for an account and create a map you will need the URL (web address) of your blog or wiki and your email address. PLEASE BE SURE TO ENTER BOTH THE URL AND THE EMAIL ADDRESS CORRECTLY OR YOU WILL NOT BE SUCCESSFUL!
Upon creating an account, you will see "HTML" code in the window. Copy this code, and go back to your blog or wiki site. Please follow these steps for "embedding" the Clustr Map in your side bar.
WordPress Blog
1. Log in. Go to Design, then Widgets. On the list of Available Widgets (on the left) you will see "Text Box." Click on "Add" and it will appear in the right hand column with the other widgets you are showing on your sidebar.
2. Click on the "Edit" link on the Text Box you've just added. A title bar and a blank text box will appear. Give your map a title (I use "Visitors Welcome") and then paste the HTML code from Clustr Maps in the box. Make sure you update/save changes both in the box itself and in the sidebar.
3. Go visit your site and view your new map! Now, work hard to make your writing excellent and inviting to your readers. And in time, readers will come!
Wikispaces
